2012 Blogging Review

At the end of the year, WordPress compiles my blog stats into a nifty little presentation. Last year I shared with you my 2011 blog data. Check it out again if you’re bored. (And scroll down to the bottom for the 2012 report link.)

This year, my top-viewed post (again) was Playtime Smiles and Squeals. I knew this would happen because I can see that most days someone looks at it. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. It is simply two videos (of a three month-old Charlotte doing pretty much nothing) and essentially zero text. The only thing I can think of is that my title must be generating search engine hits (probably in some obscure and possibly perverted way), which prompts someone to click the link to the post, and then they quickly discover this was not what they were looking for and promptly leave. (At least I hope that’s what happens.) Anyway, I’m probably over-thinking things like always.

Thank you, again, to all my faithful and occasional readers! And a special thank you for leaving comments, especially my top five! I really love me some comments.

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 16,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 4 Film Festivals
