Charlish 2.5

It’s been a week. How about a little Charlish to get things going again around here? This one thinks that’s a great idea, clearly:

1) When something is yummy it’s deeEE-LICIOUS!

2) On our hike through Hickory Hill Park on Mother’s Day, I spotted a couple of little holes in the gravel path. “Who do you think lives in there?” I asked Charlotte. She thought about it for a moment before responding. “Papa!” she exclaimed, quite sure of herself.

3) “Oh no-no-no-no nooooooo…” In the gentlest, most concerned way. She responds to any old question as if we’ve asked her something like, “Charlotte, should you be playing with scissors?”

4) “Ankylosaurus milk, PEEEAAASE!”

5) “A one, a two, a one, two, three!”

6) “Santa Clause, Santa Claus, Jingle all the way!” Yes, even in May.

7) When she is the seeker in a game of Hide and Seek, she exclaims when she find the hider, “I found me!”

8) When she goes into another room and finds a favorite toy that she’s forgotten about (even if it’s only been a few minutes since she played with it), she grabs it, hugs it, and lovingly declares, “(insert toy’s name), I missed you!”

9) Tomato = tin-nay {it’s so cute my heart hurts}

10) When she asks us for something and we respond by repeating the question, she always answers, okay!, as if the whole thing was our idea in the first place. Example: “A teeny tiny juice peeeaaase?”  “Oh, you want a little bit of juice to drink?”  “Okay!”

11) Bob brought Charlotte a cow bank and lots of coins last weekend. When she ran out, she asked a question I expect to hear a lot more often in ten years: “More money, Daddy?”

Little sweet Charlotte in her little pink shoes had so much money, she didn't know what to do.

  1. Loved this post! Great way to document the process of her growing up.

  2. What a great post! Much more interesting than my boring monthly updates (of which I have missed quite a few). :p

This age is such a fun age isn’t it, when you get surprises every single day. I’m entering that phase right now and I’m loving it! Charlotte looks like she’s grown quite a bit!

    • Such a fun stage! You never can predict what is going to come out of their mouths and that’s what makes it so great! Charlotte is growing too fast. You know how that goes!

  3. Could she be any cuter???? I need a Charlotte fix, and a game of hide-n-seek.

  4. Oh, man, I can’t wait to have these ‘isms’ for Punky! Thanks so much for sharing. I love following the stories of little girls Charlotte’s age so I know what to look forward to!

  5. “Sha la baDee!” I miss her so much already! This little gal is one happy, smart, fun-loving doll!

  6. Can’t wait for mid-June! Weeeee! So much fun with the little ones!
