Messin’ with Mother Goose

In an effort to make “Rockabye Baby” a little less violent/scary, Chris and I modified the lyrics this morning:

Rockabye baby in the tree tops

When the wind blows, the cradle will rock

When the bow breaks the cradle will fall

But will land on a lower branch and start rocking again.

Better, huh?

We also came up with this version, if you are partial to rhyming:

Rockabye baby in the treetops

When the wind blows the cradle will rock

When the bow breaks the cradle will fall

And land on a trampoline, then bounce like a ball.

Feel free to sing either of these new and improved versions to your youngins. And when you do, we’ll be at your door to collect royalties.
