Chris and I had our friends, John and Carla, over for dinner tonight. We cooked and everything! We had a mixed greens salad with goat cheese, walnuts, and cranberries, homemade minestrone, thick bread, and french silk pie. I’m still figuring out how to manage my time with a baby so dinner wasn’t quite ready when John and Carla arrived a little after 6:30. And when I say “wasn’t quite ready” I mean we didn’t eat until 9:30….oops. Charlotte just happened to be Fussy McFusserson for the hour and a half before they arrived and wouldn’t let me get anything done. Luckily, John and Carla didn’t seem to mind watching us cook and holding the baby for nearly 3 hours. And it’s not like we let them starve – we had cocktail shrimp and beer. 🙂 Dinner turned out deliciously when it was finally ready, and we enjoyed thier company until about 30 minutes ago when they left at 11. So, it’s harder to get things done with a little baby around, I’m getting that. But it was worth the effort to enjoy some grown-up time with our friends.
